Evans by Shay Murtagh is thrilled to be part of the transformative Aire Park project in Leeds, contributing to the creation of a vibrant and green urban space with our architectural precast units.
Aire Park, set to be the largest new city-centre green park in the country, represents a significant development in Leeds’ urban landscape. The unveiling of the Tetley Green, opposite the iconic brewery’s former headquarters, marks the first phase of this ambitious project. This new green space, seeded in 2023, brings a burst of life and colour to the area, setting the stage for the full 8-acre park that will feature 700 trees.
Our involvement in Aire Park focuses on supplying the architectural precast units that form an integral part of the public realm. These units are not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing, designed to blend seamlessly with the park’s natural and artistic elements.
Adjacent to the Tetley Green, the Theatre Gardens connect Aire Park to the inspiring public artwork, “Hibiscus Rising” by Yinka Shonibare CBE RA. Our architectural precast units pave the way through this area, enhancing the accessibility and enjoyment of the space. The gardens feature seating areas, stages, and raised beds, blooming with a selection of herbaceous plants chosen for their colour and texture, contributing to the area’s drama and vibrancy.
As Aire Park’s first green spaces begin to welcome visitors, anticipation grows for the completion of the first two buildings at 1 & 3 South Brook Street. These buildings, offering office space and ground-floor retail, are expected to be completed in Spring 2024, further enriching the park’s offering to the city.
