Deptford Landings

Evans by Shay Murtagh was appointed by groundworks contractor Flatley Construction in February 2026 to design, supply and install bespoke granite architectural precast units for the hard landscaping areas at Deptford Landings, a new residential development in the London Borough of Lewisham delivered by main contractor Higgins Partnerships for housing association Peabody.

The scope of works encompassed the production and installation of bespoke precast concrete units to form a seating area and water feature within the public realm of the completed scheme. The development, known as Plot 6, comprises 189 new mixed tenure homes across three seven-storey mansion blocks, designed by architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM). The public realm plays a central role in the scheme, providing shared amenity spaces and a managed access route connecting the completed blocks.

Evans manufactured the units in bespoke granite mix designs across two tones to complement the contemporary character of the development. A lighter bespoke granite mix was specified for the seating units and edgings, with a darker mix used for the water feature base slab units. All units were produced with an etched finish to expose the aggregate, showcasing Evans's expertise in architectural finishes and the tactile quality of the natural granite. The dual-tone approach creates a clear visual contrast between the seating elements and the water feature, contributing to a cohesive and high-quality public space that reflects the architectural ambitions of the wider development.

The Deptford Landings scheme is built to Passivhaus Classic standards, placing sustainability and energy efficiency at the heart of the development. All three blocks have been designed to deliver significantly improved comfort and indoor air quality for residents, alongside reductions in building operational costs. The shared public realm, including the granite precast seating and water feature supplied and installed by Evans, forms an integral part of the amenity spaces designed to serve the 189 new homes across the site.
