Royal Docks Corridor Regeneration, London

Client: Kenson Highways
End Client: London Borough of Newham
Project Status: Ongoing (2024 – Present)

Evans by Shay Murtaghis proud to be contributing to the transformation of the Royal Docks Corridor, one of East London’s most significant public realm and infrastructure regeneration projects.

Working with the London Borough of Newham as main client delivering the scheme, with Kenson Highways acting as principal contractor – Evans Concrete has been manufacturing bespoke architectural precast concrete elements for multiple phases of the scheme since 2024.

The Royal Docks Corridor project is creating a safer, greener, and more attractive urban environment through upgraded public spaces, improved walking and cycling routes, enhanced landscaping and high-quality streetscape features that support the continued regeneration of the Royal Docks area.

Phase 4 – 2024

Our involvement commenced with the manufacture of a series of bespoke architectural precast concrete feature play walls, designed to become focal points within the new public realm.

The units were produced in two architectural concrete mixes:

  • Black Granite Mix
  • Portland Limestone Mix

All units received an acid-etched finish, providing a durable, tactile surface while enhancing the natural appearance of the aggregates.

Phase 5 – 2025

Manufactured in a Portland Limestone mix with an acid-etched finish, these units combine robust performance with a refined architectural aesthetic, complementing the wider landscape design.

Phase 6 – 2026 (Current)

Manufacture and installation are currently underway for the latest phase of the project.

This package includes:

  • Feature play walls
  • Entrance steps

All components are being manufactured in a Portland Limestone mix with an acid-etched finish, maintaining a consistent architectural language across the development.

Delivering Long-Term Public Realm Quality

The Royal Docks Corridor demonstrates how high-quality bespoke architectural precast concrete can contribute to creating welcoming, durable public spaces that will serve local communities for decades.

Working in conjunction with Kenson Highways throughout multiple project phases has enabled Evans Concrete to deliver consistent quality, precise manufacture, and effective programme support across several phases of this prestigious scheme across this prestigious regeneration scheme.

With Phase 6 now in progress, we look forward to continuing our contribution to one of London’s landmark public realm projects.
