Queen Elizabeth Line

The Queen Elizabeth Line, recognised with the 2024 RIBA Stirling Prize, stands as a benchmark in modern infrastructure and design. At Evans by Shay Murtagh, we are proud to have played a significant role in this landmark project through our expert precast concrete elements delivered across multiple pivotal locations along the line.

At Farringdon Station, our team supplied and installed the APSE ceilings for BKFB JV Ltd. These complex precast elements required precision engineering and expert logistics. Moving east, the Whitechapel Station facade was another critical contribution, provided for BBMV JV Ltd, highlighting our capability in delivering architectural finishes to exacting specifications.

Further down the line, Abbeywood Station features our concourse units, including beams and T-heads. These units form an essential part of the station’s structure, delivered to Balfour Beatty Ltd under tight schedules. At Woolwich Station, our architectural beams brought form and function together, combining structural strength with visual appeal.

In the heart of the city at Liverpool Street Station, we partnered with Bauer Technologies Ltd to deliver key diaphragm wall components, ensuring strength and safety below ground level. And at Canary Wharf, our concrete elements supported the RT5 Winter Garden project for Blackdown Landscapes Ltd, a visually striking space blending architecture and natural elements.

This project is a testament to our deep commitment to quality standards, innovative design, and a sustainable future. Evans by Shay Murtagh’s involvement in this award-winning infrastructure demonstrates the role of expert precast engineering in shaping the UK’s transport future.
