Manor Road in Canning Town is a major regeneration project that transforms a former industrial site into a thriving residential and public space. Evans by Shay Murtagh played a key role in this project, delivering a variety of precast concrete elements manufactured in an architectural limestone mix with acid-etched finishes.
Working with Ferns Group – O’Rourke Contracting, under main contractor Morgan Sindall Construction and Infrastructure, Evans by Shay Murtagh supplied an extensive range of precast concrete units designed to complement the landscape vision of Churchman Thornhill Finch. These included:
- Entrance Steps – Precision-engineered for durability and aesthetic appeal.
- Water Feature Rill Units – Enhancing the urban drainage and visual aspects of the space.
- Planter Wall Coping Units – Providing a refined and robust boundary for landscaped areas.
- Entrance Wall Steeple Copings – Designed to add architectural detail and durability.
- Bespoke Street Furniture – Custom precast concrete elements integrated seamlessly into the public realm
The precast concrete units used in this project were carefully crafted with varying degrees of acid etching, achieving a sophisticated architectural finish. This approach ensured the material harmonised with the contemporary urban setting while maintaining long-term durability and weather resistance.
